반만년 조국허리 남북으로 동강나고

눈물강 넘쳐나고 땅의한숨 북받치니

하늘도 참지 못하고

천둥번개 내리네

 

하루가 천년처럼 말라가는 천지눈물

천년이 하루처럼 고달파진 태백호흡

한반도 헤매떠돌며

신음짓는 혼백들

 

칠십년 넘게시리 침묵하는 디엠지(DMZ)여

설마다 망향에찬 눈시울을 짓이기며

또다시 되뇌어보는

까마득한 이름들

 

설악산 금강산이 마주보며 호형호제

백두산 한라산에 무궁화꽃 어우러져

통일의 기적소리에

온갖설음 쏟고파

The waist of our country which has the history of 5,000 years

has been divided into two pieces, South Korea and North Korea.

As the rivers have been flooded by the countless tears, 

since the sighs of the earth were overflown,

even heaven, without persistence, 

let the lightning flash and the thunder fill the air.

 

The tears of Chunji Lake(Caldera) on Baekdu Mountain

are getting dry like one day as thousand years,

the breathing of Taebaek Range is getting tired 

like thousand years as one day,

over the Korean peninsula here and there,

moaning souls are found floating.

 

Oh, the DMZ that has kept silence over 70 years!

Putting down the tears overflown, 

because of their homesickness on every New Year

the dispersed people are calling again 

the names of their family, almost forgotten.

 

Seolak Mt. and Geumgang Mt. are face to face and 

calling each other 'Brother'.

When the national flowers of Korea(the rose of Sharon)

are getting together from on Baekdu Mountain to on Halla Mt.,

Most people sincerely wish the train of unity whistles for a long time,

spitting out the pile of bitter grief.
