82) Dealings

Wolran Kim

My home country that I left
Is a huge, modern gift shop that is decorated with the olden days
Passersby never walk with the 1980’s steps
Their time that I had skipped added value only to them
An exile shoplifted me across the border
I wish I could be displayed like them with the same system and price
The things that I dumped were never thrown away
Immigrants who don’t visit their home countries for ten, twenty years
Operate at least one thriving antique shop in their minds
What kind of profit do the travelers dream about without any dealing?
I pay with karma of nostalgia that has filled my purse up on the streets
I bring a handful of olden days that grew up by themselves as a gift
Everything is tax free to me, who does nothing but impulse buy
My rootless, small business, wrapped by romanticism is still okay
I will visit again as if I were a guest, and there will be dealings
A door opens without any sound
In a huge gift shop through the airport’s automatic door
