월정사에 가면

바람이 푸른 깃털을 세우고 달려와

깊은 산맥 가득

가슴 속 응어리를 풀어놓듯

내가 몽땅 비거나

뿌리 채 뽑혀버렸으면 좋겠다


　
추녀 끝 목어가

제 빛깔의 소리를 내고

새벽 목탁 흐르는 소리

여명 속에 홀로 아득할 때

내 간절한 기도 한 줄 그 위에 얹고 싶다


　
월정사에 가면

외로운 영혼 하나 만나고 싶다

시간의 발목에 약속 같은 것 매달아 두지 않고

쓸쓸한 어깨 서로 쓰다듬으며

허공에 뜬 목어처럼

고요한 시간을 흔들고 싶다.


* 월정사: 강원도 오대산에 있는 절 이름

　
When I Go To WolJeongSa Temple
                           Cha SinJae

The wind run after me with its blue feather raised
To the fill of the deepest mountain range
To help me unburden the bitterness in my heart
So that hopefully I become completely empty
Or completely rooted out in my entire being.

The wooden fish dangling from the angle rafter of  the Temple
Makes sounds of its own color
And the flowing sounds of MokTak at the dawn
Seem so far away and lonesome in the dawn
When I feel like to place one of my earnest prayers upon it.

When I go to WolJeongSa* Temple
I want to meet one lonely soul
Without binding any promise to the ankle of time
Stroking each other's lonesome shoulders
Just like the wooden fish dangling in the air
I 'd like to sir up the quiet hours.
