겨울노래


             신규호


빈 항아리는 아름답다.
장독대에서 눈을 맞는
질 그릇은 모두 아름답다.
  잿빛 하늘 아래
가지를 치켜든 동백 한 그루
잎 진 빈 나무는 아름답다
다만 두 팔을 취저으며
깊은 겨울을 활보하는 사람들,
외투자락이 흔들고 간
빈 공간에 나부끼는
눈 발은 아름답다
성긴 가지 사이로 트이는 하늘,
가슴 열고 한 마리 새를 기르며
가냘픈 노래와 울음을 사랑하는
겨울 산은 아름답다
빈 항아리는 아름답다.
눈을 맞는 빈  그릇은 모두 착하고
아름답다.


A winter Song

An empty jar is beautiful
All beautiful are potteries,
Exposed to snow on the soy-jar terrace.
Beautiful is a leafless camellia
Branching out beneath a gray sky.
In midwinter;
Beautiful are snowflakes fluttering in the air
By the movements of the  people wearing overcoats.
Beautiful is a winter mountain
Opening its mind,
Keeping a bird,
And loving trilling songs and sounds
Under the sky seen through thin branches.
An empty  jar is  beautiful.
All good and beautiful are
Empty vessels exposed to snow.
