그 많던 얼굴들

늙으면 서글퍼진다는말이 다름아닌
숫자세기 놀음일 줄이야

콘서트장에서
앞다투어 봉사하던Summer/ Christmas fair에서
한점이라도 뒤질세라 몰두하던 Funding퀴즈대회에서
하물며 수퍼에서
나서면 스쳐가던 미소의 얼굴들
이단체 저 단체 친목, 스포츠모임이 열릴때마다
당연이 오리라, 있으리라 기대했는데

언제부턴가 늘어가는 숫자들
보이지 않는 한 얼굴 두얼굴 세얼굴…
내가 바쁜와중이어서 그랬다 싶었는데
어쩌다 참석하는 장례식이 그저 우연이라 싶었는데
두차례 서너차례 잦아지는 장례식
아뿔사, 갑자기 느껴지는 현실
그것은 보이지 않던 얼굴들의 goodbye행렬이었네

불현듯 찾고싶어 헤아려보는 얼굴들
아니 몇 안남았잖아?
아니 서너손가락도 찾아지지않네

인생무상이라더니

그저 우리모두가 어울려 연출하던 인생무대의 신기루였군

All those faces

Getting old is depressing as we know
It is a game of countdown

At concerts
Summer and Christmas fairs that were the centre of our attention to volunteer
Out of the quiz games, we competed with one another to get a better prize
Even in the local supermarkets
Bumping into each other and exchanging smiles
Expecting those faces would be then and there
At these and those sports or social events
The dwindling numbers, suddenly I noticed
the missing faces, increasing
I thought it was me, too busy to catch them up

While attending a funeral at times
Then, one and another and more often
Alas, it is where I am
It is a ceremony of ongoing goodbyes

Blankly, I count all those faces
Dear me, there are no longer many around
Even less than three or four

Life is a blowing wind as we know

The mirage we played on the vast open stage in flickering time and space
