어제 오후엔
지나가는 소나기의 행렬이 요란했다
거센 비바람과 천둥 번개가
메말라 갈라져 가던 천지를 마구 흔들고
이리저리 물길을 만들며 거리를 휩쓸었다
　
꽃과 나무들은 빗줄기 속에서
빛나던 청춘의 얼굴로
다시 싱싱하게 피어났고
무참하게 시들어가던 내 영혼도
축복처럼 쏟아지는 빗소리에
다시 싱싱하게 젊어졌다
　
다음 날 아침 꽃밭엔
코스모스 분홍빛 뺨이 유난히 선명했는데
언제 어디서 날아들었는지
잘 생긴 벌 한 마리
온몸에 꽃가루를 흠뻑 뒤집어쓴 채
싱긋 웃으며 꽃 속에서 나오고 있었다
　
소나기는 그렇게
타들어 가던 빈 들판을
생명의 몸짓으로 출렁이게 하더니
선명한 무지개로 다시 와
지상의 꿈들을 향하여 손을 내밀었다.

뜨거운 여름날의 신명 나는 축제였다

An Exilarating Festivity On A Mid Summer Day
                 Cha SinJae

Yesterday afternoon
The parade of passing showers was quite tumultuous
With blustery winds, thunders, and lightning
Violently shaking parched earth and heaven at will
Sweeping streets, creating torrents here and there

Flowers and trees amid such rain streaks
Still holding onto their once bright, youthful faces
Once again, freshly bloomed.
Even my soul that has been withering pitifully
At the blissful sound of pouring rain
Once again, freshly revived young

The next morning, on the flowerbed
The pink floral cheeks of Cosmos looked sharply bright
Unbeknownst, when and where he flew in
A good-looking bee
Doused himself all over his body with pollen
Crawled out from a flower with toothy smiles

Thus those showers,
Upon all those empty parched fields
Sloshed with their body movements of life, and then
Transformed themselves anew as a bright rainbow,
Offering their helping hands toward all the dreams on earth.

It was an exhilarating festivity of one hot summer day.
