80. 진앙지에서

 

 

땅이 우느냐

하늘이 우느냐

아니면 내가 우느냐

 

이 엄청난 흔들림으로 생애를 설거지하고

수만 리 하늘 끝에 매달려

귀 대어 듣는다

대 자연의 부름을

 

주여!

당신이 지신 십자가는 어디 있는가

캄캄한 하늘과 검은 땅 사이

내 목숨의 옷자락은 어디쯤 찢겨 가는가

 

이것이 죽음인 것을

이것이 마지막인 것을

 

굳게 잠긴 문에 기대어

참회의 이를 갈며

내가 그토록 그리워하던 것은 무엇인가

 

사나 죽으나

그대 품안에 안기는 이 평안은

오직 그대와 나의 것이다

 

 

80. From the Epicenter

 

 

Is the earth crying

Is the sky crying

Or, am I crying

 

I have washed the dishes of my life with this staggering tremor

and cleaved unto the far stretching end of the sky,

now I  listen to

the call of the great nature

 

Lord! 

Where is the cross you bore

What part of the garment of my life is being torn

between the dim sky and dark earth

 

This must be death

This must be the end

 

What is it that I longed for so earnestly

leanning against the door fast locked

gnashing my teeth with repentance

 

Whether living or dying,

this peace to be held in your heart

is only yours and mine
