76. 모세의 무덤 앞에서

 

 

주여

흙에서 나서

흙에 살다가

흙으로 돌아갑니다

 

그러나

오로지 별 그 너머

당신 나라에 아르고 싶어

육신을 땅에 묻어두고

영혼을 떠올립니다

 

어짜피 못 가는 땅

눈빛으로 가나안에 머물면

사해, 헤브론, 베들레헴, 예루살렘, 여리고가

한눈에 어리는데

 

느보 산정에 뜬 가슴

하늘과 맞닿은 가나안을 향하여

황금나팔을 붑니다

 

여호와여

하늘문을 여소서

이 민족 살리는 길을 내소서

 

 

Before the Grave of Moses

 

 

Lord,

I was born out of dirt

and lived in dirt

and now I return to dirt

 

But 

my sole desire is to reach your kingdom

far beyond the stars,

so I leave my body buried in the land

and rise in my soul

 

For a moment I cast a glance at Canaan,

the land I can not enter after all,

and I see all of

the Dead Sea, Hebron, Bethlehem, Jerusalem, and Jericho

 

My heart hovers over the top of mount Nebo

and blows a golden trumpet

toward Canaan far on the horizon

 

Jehovah,

open the gate of heaven

and create the way to revive this nation
