거대한 돌 하나를 파낸

모래바람 속 꿈의 비석

핏줄도 없는

앞발에 새겨진 비문

 

네 가슴에서 나온 바람이

내게로 오다가 멎고

내 가슴에서 바람이 나와서

네게로 가다가 멎고

 

죽은 것이 산 것을 위로하려

죽은 것이 죽은 것을 지키는

캄캄한 우상

 

누가 나를 너처럼 세워 준대도

나는 싫다

천 년 만 년 기념해 준대도

나는 싫다

 

영생의 길목에 잘못 서 있는 허상

캄캄한 주검아!

 

 

73. Sphinx

 

 

The tombstone of a dream in the sandy wind,

out of a great stone they dug out

The epitaph carved on the front paw

without a single vein

 

The wind coming out of your bosom

halts on the way to me,

the wind coming out of my bosom

halts on the way to you

 

Dark idol,

the dead keeper of the dead

to comfort the living with the dead

 

Someone might erect me like you

but I do not want it

Someone might celebrate me thousands of years

but I do not want it

 

A false image standing amiss on the road to eternal life,

you, dark death!
