72. 갈빗대

 

 

잠자리에

지아비가 눕고

지어미가 눕고

 

밤이 깊어지면

그 때 뽑아 준 갈비뼈가

지어미 속을 나와

지아비에게 가고

지아비 속을 나와

지어미에게 가고

 

새벽이면

빌려준 그 자리에

제 것처럼 누워있다

 

밤과 낮이 천만 번 오고가도

그 뼈 속비밀을

아직은 아는 이가 없다

 

 

72. The Rib-Bone

 

 

In the bed

a husband lies down

and a wife lies down

 

As night deepens

the rib which was taken out and given

comes out of the wife

and goes to the husband,

comes out of the husband

and goes to the wife

 

At each dawn

it is lying down as if it belonged

to the place from where it was borrowed

 

Though nights and days come and go unceasingly

no one knows yet

the secret hidden in the bone
