55. 새해

 

 

새해는 하늘에서 온다

눈으로 귀로 들어와서

우리들의 가슴에 새 하늘을 편다

 

영원에서 오는 빛과 바람이

태양을 돌고 달을 돌아

그 수많은 별들을 실어다가

우리들의 가슴에

태양을 띄우고 달을 띄우고

별들을 띄운다

 

우리들 가슴의 하늘에는

수천 수만의 깃발이 펄럭인다

찬란한 꽃노을이 번진다

 

새해는 넓고 깊은 바다에서 온다

파도가 몰고 오는 저 아우성

푸른 생명 튀어 오르는 파도

그 위에 배가 뜬다

생명의 기쁨이 출렁거리는 새해는

얼싸안고 어루만지는 물결의

깊고 넓은 바다에서 온다

 

새해는 산과 들에서 온다

추운 겨울 땅속에서

꽃봉오리를 이고 올라오는

새싹이 뚝뚝 떨구는 기쁨

그 눈물의 진액에서 온다

 

누가 태양을 멈추게 하는가

누가 세월을 가게도 하고

오게도 하는가

 

아하! 우리들의 새해는

전능자의 가슴에서 온다

위로하고 치유하고 일으키는

그 사랑이 그 속죄의 능력이

죽음을 이기고

영생하는 신비가

저리로서 온다

 

전능자의 가슴에서

우리들의 가슴으로

새 하늘 새 바다 새 땅을 펴고

우리의 살길을 연다

55. Each New Year

 

 

Each New Year comes from heaven

It enters our eyes and ears

and then opens a new heaven in our heart

 

The ight and wind that come from eternity

go around the sun and moon,

carry those numberless stars

to let the sun and moon

and stars

rise in our heart

 

In the heaven of our heart

thousands and ten thousands of banners wave

and beautiful, flowering twilight unfolds

 

Each New Year comes from the vast and deep sea

The shouts from the tossing waves,

the waves that leap with vibrant life,

on them float the ships

The New Year full of life’s joy

comes from a deep and vast sea

with waves that embrace and receive

 

Each New Year comes from mountains and fields

It comes from the strength of tears

of a sprout whose joy springs

from a bud that shoots up  

from under the ground in cold winter

 

Who causes the sun to stop

Who causes time to go foreward

and backward

 

Aha! Our New Year

comes from the heart of the Almighty

Comforting and healing and raising

love and the power of atonement

overcome death,

and the mystery of eternal life

comes thence

 

From God”s heart

to our heart

new heaven, new sea, and new earth unfold

to show the way to live
