Last night,
I could not sleep due to
the draft seeping through
the door gap.

In the early morning,
I open up the window.
The persimmon tree in the yard
reaches its hand to me.

I meet the first frost
in the clear air.
All night,
carve my love letter
deep in my heart
with the light of the stars.

It says “love” in scarlet.
