어미 새 작은 새 한 마리 땅으로 떨어지는 순간 애견(愛犬) 마리가 나꿔챘다 나는 작은 새를 돌보는데 나의 손을 깨물며 어미 새를 부른다 마리 때문에 곁에 올 수 없는 어미 새가 가슴을 가르며 울어 댄다 치료하여 어미가 원할 것 같은 포도나무 푸른 잎 사이로 올려놓으니 그 작은 주둥이로 새끼를 물고 난다 공중으로 오르다 힘에 부쳐 부리에서 다시 떨어진 작은 새는 체온이 식어간다 새끼를 보내야하는 찌익- 찌익 구슬픈 신음이 꽃묘를 만들어 주는 동안 머리 위를 빙빙 돈다 마리가 신나, 노리고 있는 위험 터 낮게 날다 쫓기면서 몇 번이고 다가오는 어미 새의 모습 오랫동안 고쳐지지 않는 병으로 아리고 사는 딸 가진 엄마의 안타까운 몸짓이다 A Mother Bird A little bird is falling, Right before he hits the ground My loving dog, Marie snatches him. While I try to nurse him He bites my hand and cries for his Mom The Mother bird also cries her heart out up above Because Marie keeps her from coming near her baby I attend to him and lay him on the leafy green grapevine in such away as the mother bird probably would. Then she swoops down and Carries her baby in her small beak and soars to the sky As she flies into the sky She is too weak to hold on to him She drops the baby from her beak The tiny bird falls again. So does his temperature. Hovering above, his Mom pathetically moans and squawks She laments her lack of strength to carry and protect her baby Down below is a dangerous place Where Marie, too happy and excited, is running around Every time the mother bird tries to come near her baby She is chased away by Marie. But then she tries, tries, tries again. As I gaze upon the futile endeavors of the mother bird Suddenly I realize that' s what I am doing for my daughter Whose heart is broken For no medicine has been able to cure her chronic condition for so long
