할아버지의 성묘

어느 봄날
할아버지 손잡고
아버지 산소에 갔었지
열 살 무렵이었나봐

굽고 가파른 산길도
소풍 길 마냥 즐겁게
깡충거리며 갔었지

진달래꽃 한아름
아버지 무덤앞에 놓고
나비처럼 나풀나풀 절을 하다가
할아버지 두 눈 가득 피어있는
붉은 꽃 더미를 보았지

먼데서 뻐꾸기 소리 날아와
적막한 산을 휘젓는데
봉분을 쓰다듬던
할아버지 메마른 손등에
소리없이 떨어져 내리던
붉은 꽃잎들

서른여섯 막내아들
가슴에 묻은 할아버지
그 아들 떨구고 간
꽃봉오리 두 송이
품에 깊이 안으신 후
웃음을 거두셨다지

Grandpa's Gravesite Visit

On a Spring Day
Holding Grandpa's hand
I went to Papa's grave site
It must be about when I was 10 years old

The mountain road was winding and steep
Yet delighting as if going on a picnic
I went along hippity-hoppity

A bosom full of Azalea
Placing upon Papa's grave
While making fluttering bows like a butterfly
I saw a heap of red flowers
Bloomed fully in two eyes of Grandpa

A Cuckoo's song flown in  from afar
Stirred up the dreary mountain
While red floral leaves
Upon the parched backs of Grandpa's hands
Who was caressing burial mound
Silently were falling

Last son of 36 years old
Grandpa buried in his heart
Then after embracing dearly
Two buds of flowers
Whom the son left behind
He gathered up his smiles
