그대 앞에 서면
자꾸만 빌고 싶어 진다

뒤뜰 장독대 위에
정한수 떠 놓고
두 손 가득 달빛 모아 비시던
외할머니 하얀 모습
보름달
그 둥근 얼굴로 살아오신다.

낭비한 시간 너무 많아
가슴 속 빈자리 너무 많고
미워한 사람 너무 많아
사랑해야 할 사람 너무 많은
가슴 속 무성한 가시덤불

외할머니 정갈한 그 두 손 되어
빌고 또 빌면
맑고 깨끗해질까
보름달을 보면
자꾸 빌고 싶어진다

I feel like to beg pardon with no end

Upon the JangDockDae* stand at back yard
Offering a bowlful of clean water
Full moonlight in two hands rubbing to beg
My maternal grandmother's white figure
Full moon
Comes alive in the round face.

Wasted time too many
Empty spaces in my heart so many
People I hated too many
People I had to love so many
Thorny bush in the heart too thickly grown

Be those two neat hands of my maternal grandmother
If I beg rubbing hands again and again
Will I become clear and clean?
When I see full moon
I feel like to beg pardon with no end.
