밤새도록
바다 끝에서 흔들리던 불빛이
이른 아침  
선착장이 질펀하도록
왁자한 소리를 부려 놓는다

바닥에 머리를 박으며
온몸으로 퍼덕대는 물고기들의
처절한 은회색 몸부림  

얼마 남지 않은 생애
무엇을 더 보태려고
저토록 맹렬히 몸을 뒤집는지

목숨의 끝에 매달린
처절한 절규가
선창가의 새벽을 핏빛으로 채운다

질펀한 비린내
마음 밖으로 달아나던 나를
삶으로 밀어 넣는다.


At Fishing Dock
       Cha SinJae

All night long
Dim  lights blinked at the end of the sea
Early in the morning
Jamming the fishing dock
Boisterous noises are unloaded all over

Hammering their heads onto the floor
Multitudes of fishes flip-flop their bodies
Floundering desperately their silvery gray bodies.

To the life that may not last much longer
In order to add whatever they can
Are they flip flapping that fiercely?

Hanging onto their lives which close in
Agonizing screams
Fill the fishing dock's dawn with dar sanguine red

The slush fish smell
Pushes me back to life
Me, who was running away from my heart.
