- An Ode to father

You, a tree that is masterful

The holy one in the name of father

It’s roots that gripped the earth, unshakeable

For flowers, leaves, offspring

When flowers and leaves gone

The bare, wintry trunk, in prayer, standstill
Thousand miles away, the life of a new immigrant

In the new land where everything is so strange and unfamiliar

When many days of pent-up tears

You cut in, “Don’t!”

Instead, by staring at the mountain in far distance

At the end of each day

On your daily home coming at the dusk

Thus, you became my father again

Your eyes easily welled up

By the sight of our shoes in a row

Days just passed and carried on

When looking in a mirror

That emerged your smiling face of way back

The smile was on me, there and then

Was the smile for being guilty or proud?

Your eyes in the mirror

soon begin to water

Hence, you are inditing a history of a family

That is heart-rending

The history of an immigration by clenching your tongue

Birds build nest on, regardless the shapes of any tree

A harsh judge is not on,

Because of no tangible achievements

Your role was that of a kernel of wheat that fell to the ground

The heaven, a place for you is secured

While you deserve the priceless rewards on earth

It’s father’s day today

Only once in a year

Your day

Thank you, father

Thank you, father

My pray, wholeheartedly for you

Please stay healthy

Please be happy every single moment
