17. 저녁노을

 

 

당신이여

흔들리는 목숨 어지러이 흩어진

가을 끝자리 눈물 젖은

당신이여

 

가야할 마지막 하늘을

울음으로 노래로 기도로 적시며

잠재워야 할 내 영원

고운 당신이여

 

내가 당신 사랑함을 하늘도 다 안다

그래도 당신을 다시 바라보아

오늘 하루를 뜨겁게

나처럼 우는 사람 있을까

 

이순을 넘어서야 당신을 알고

또 몇 년 후에 나를 알고 나니

이렇게 눈물이 흐르는구나

 

바람 스치는 하늘에

더욱 아름다운 세상

타오르는 불꽃 사이

밤의 안식으로 가는 길목에

당신과 나  

꽃으로 피는구나

 

 

17. Evening Twilight

 

 

O you

tearful at the end of autumn

where flickering life giddily scatters

o you

 

Drenching the last sky to reach

with tears, songs and prayer,

my eternity to put to rest,

O you pure

 

Heaven knows I love you

but I wonder if there could be anyone like me

who sees you again and weeps

ardently this day

 

How I shed tears

to know you only after sixty years of age

and to know myself after a few years since then

 

The wind blows softly in the sky

and all the more beautiful world

You and I are

blooming flowers

in the midst of the flame

on the way to the night’s peace
