10. 바다

 

 

뼈와 살이 맞닿은 그대

사랑하는 것이 되어 아직도 아득할 뿐

애초부터 우리는 눈물 도는 육신이었다

밤낮 풀어 헹구는 목숨

더 씻고 싶은 것이 무엇이냐

원통했던 그 때를

커단 손과 두 팔로 감싸주던 그대 앞에

가슴 풀어헤친 눈물이면 되는가

산아!

들아!

그대의 눈빛에 그리움을 대고

마르지 않는 울음으로 누워 있는데

이제 더 그리운 것이 무엇이냐

태초부터 영원까지 내 뼈를 흔들어

깊은 잠을 깨우고 물무늬로 달려드는 영혼이여

지금도 눈물로 사랑하는가

노을 비낀 하늘 끝

네 흐느낌에 매달린 평생을

더 큰 소리로 울고 싶구나

 

 

10. The Sea

 

 

Thy bones touch thy flesh

I love thee, yet thou art far away

From the beginning we were tearful flesh

What is it I want to cleanse

of the life I unbind and continue to wash  

Are the tears from my heart sufficient

before thee whose great hands and arms enveloped me

when I was vexed

Mountains!

Fields!

Longing for thy look,

I am lying down in much tears

and what is there left to long for

O my soul, shaking my bones to wake me from abysmal slumber

and rush in thy water-pattern, from the beginning to eternity,

are you still in loving tears

At the end of the sky in twilight

I yearn to cry louder

hanging unto your sorrow all through my life
