붓을 들어

꽃의 일생을 적는다

 

꽃의 일생을 적는 붓끝에서

자꾸 눈물이 젖어 난다

 

눈물에 적시고 또

피에 불려서야 써지는

그 생애는

 

선혈이 뚝뚝 떨어져

다시 꽃이 된다

 

아! 그 속에

피 묻은 그리스도가 웃고 있다

 

 

3. Rose

 

 

I hold a brush

to trace a flower's life

 

Tears drip without ceasing

from the tip of the brush with which I trace the flower's life  

 

The life

that can be traced only when it is dipped in tears

and soaked in blood

 

sheds crimson blood, drop by drop,

and becomes a flower again

 

Ah! In it  

Christ is smiling with blood still on Him
