68) Halloween
Wolran Kim
Above the children who areholding organs and walking in the streets
Orange pumpkins flylike garnishes
The children who live with the witches raising little wombs
Romping about the torn night fluttering in a Hulk costume
Before Frankenstein kills his bride, before the North Pole freezes into glaciers
Please give us candy, candy, that is not mixed with drugs
That is not soaked in sensual colors
Please give us pure and innocent candy
The reason why the eardrum doesn’t explode
Is because they jump in the Kelts’ legend like a marshmallow
When powdered Cinderella dolls fall over laughs
Please give us candy that is made by the Wizard of Oz
We’ll not cry,so please give us candy
That is paralyzed with pain in the white blood of a vampire
Even after eating candy that is painted with evil flowers like pills
Even rolling over as fallen leaves on the last day of fall
We’re beggar-creatures who eat only expelled seasons
Breaking the dark with teeth of light in the flame of a Jack-o-Lantern
Serving ghosts who are laughing in the shadow of the innocent
Today is the night that disabled minds wear the flesh
Today is the night that disabled bodies go out wholly
After parturient pain passes over the garden as an evil grave
Between colorful hands which tighten upin the dark
Evil spiritsthat are copied cheerfully
