The mid-October afternoon
The sun broke into a pale purple
Over the mountain
Where the woman lay sideways
It looked at my face
With its dazzling light
and "click."
At that moment
wonder rushed
across the lake and
stopped in front of me
lower than the sea
highest than the mountains
The startled reeds were ashamed
and the light spread out again over the lake.
