조국의 아침

나라를 사랑하는 뜨거운 가슴마다

태극기를 휘날리며 대한독립 만세를 외치며

총칼에 쓰러져 간 넋들의 고귀한 생명

아 어찌 잊을쏘냐!

 

그들의 희생의 씨앗이 동토에 싹을 트고

무성히 자라 빼어난 금수강산에

그들의 혼불이 태극기처럼 나부끼네

 

아! 아름다운 조국의 여명이 밝아 온다

살을 에는 시베리아의 삭풍이

뼈속을 녹여도 견디어 낸 우리의 조국

새 아침이 밝아 온다

 

찬란한 태양아 높이 솟아라

어두움을 사르고 광명의 빛으로

온 누리를 환하게 골고루 비추어라

아름다워라! 우리 조국의 새 아침이여!

 

열 조의 눈물 어린 기도와 이 백성의 뼈를 깎는 노고

세계 열방에 우뚝 선 경제 대국 대한민국이

한없이 자랑스럽구나

열방의 등불로 우뚝 서리라

 

우리 민족의 염원인 남북통일이 머지않아 이루어지면

이산가족의 뼈아픈 통한을 씻어 줄 그날이 분명히 오리라

 

조국의 새 아침의 문은 활짝 열리고 부푼 소망에 꿈을 싣고

우리 모두 손에 손을 맞잡고 힘찬 애국가를

드높이 부르리라

자자손손 하나님의 축복으로 길이길이 넘치리라.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

At Dawn of Fatherland                          Soo Yong Kim

 

 

 

Every Patriotic heart waving the national flag,

 

Cried out ‘Long live Korea!’

 

Priceless lives declaring independence

 

Were stabbed and shot to death by Japanese soldiers.

 

Ah! How could we forget the March 1st independence movement!

 

 

 

The seeds of their sacrifices were planted

 

And have been growing in the beautiful land.

 

Their spirits of patriotism are fluttering like flag

 

All over our peninsular.

 

Oh! Glorious daybreak is brightening!

 

 

 

Although the cold wind from Siberia had blown to Korea

 

and we have been frozen to the bone,

 

Our country has endured perseverance.

 

New beginning of bright morning is dawning.

 

 

 

 Soar high, the Shinning sun!

 

To expel the shadows of darkness,

 

With bright light,

 

Shine all over the place in our country

 

What a beautiful morning it is!

 

 

 

With answers of tearful prayers of our ancestors from God

 

And arduous labors of Korean people,

 

We are very proud of our nation standing out aloft

 

Among nations as a lantern.

 

If our dream of unification would come true in the very near future,

 

Separated families would be overwhelmed with rejoice

 

To see the day to come without their torment and agony.

 

 

 

The door of morning of our fatherland would be wide-open,

 

With heartfelt wishes and dreams,

 

We would sing our anthem at the top of our voice hand in hand.

 

Our nation would be full of blessings of God’s grace

 

From generation to generation forever!
