Morning Glory

Shocking pink flowers burst open with a bang

Green, bright green leaves take bold steps

Morning glories within reach

Climb high at July's peak

 

The path they followed ends

Their feet unravel in midair

No resting place

No ladders in this deep abyss

The floundering hands of those morning glories

Sway as they might

Must not be attempts at dancing

Cannot be a dance

 

How did they realize overnight

Who showed them the way

The void has grasped hands

With the void

They open the path at the edge of the cliff

Place a crossing bridge outside the guardrail

 

Ah, the morning glory of July

 

 

 

 

나팔꽃

 

 

진분홍 꽃주먹 날리며

초록, 진초록 잎 창창 딛고

내닫던 나팔꽃

칠월의 정수리로 올랐다

 

문득 가던 길 끊어지고

공중에 발이풀렸다

받침대도 없고

사다리도 없는 깊은 나락

허우적거리는 저 나팔꽃의 손들

저리 너울대도

노랫가락일 수는 없겠다

춤일 수는 없다

 

한밤 사이 어찌 깨달았을까

누가 가르쳐주었을까

허공과 허공이

서로의 손을 잡았다

절벽 끝에서 길을 여는

난간 밖으로 징검다리를 놓는
