아들녀석이 보내온 시 한편. 자작시면 더욱 좋겠지만 너무 과욕일까? 어쨌든 요즘들어 부쩍 성숙해진 아들, 예쁘게 키워줘서, 그리고 바르게 키워줘서 감사하단다. 한동안 속상하게 했던 것을 이렇게 한방에 날려버리게 해주는 아이들의 재롱이다. 감사는 엄마인 내가 해야 할 몫이다. 건강하게 자라줘서 고맙고 엄마에게서 태어나서 고맙고 바른 생각 가질려고 노력해줘서 고맙고 또 엄마의 빈자리 잘 지켜줘서 고맙고..... She was there to listen to your thoughts And when you asked, to give advice - She was there to tell you, "Those don't match!" Or, "Hon, you sure look nice." She was there with you at nighttime To help you say your prayers _ She was there to tell you, "It's alright." When you had a dream that scares. She was there at morning time To get you up and out of bed - She was there when you didn't feel good (or did) To say, "You'd best stay home, instead." She was there when you were hungry And when you had those dirty clothes - She was there when you needed her (How she knew? Only heaven knows.) She was there at the beginning And she'll be there your whole life through - She'll be there in your mind and heart Just like a mother is supposed to do. Mom! I love you and Thank you.
