74) A Witness
Wolran Kim
In the morning on the way to work
On the entrance of the I-15 freeway, the circular intersection awoke long ago
When I waited for the left turn signal at the front of the line
A car in the next lane began to drive suddenly, whether rushed or misjudged
The car crashed into the other car coming from the front in a moment
In three seconds, two cars were smashed on film
The hoods were crumpled and the engines were broken like dumplings
The road of life waited for the blinking of signals without any errors
Statute of limitations ran out and the road was in the memory with no tense
The road in the heart is a lawless world without signals
A horn of the silent film is ringing, and it is impossible to inquire who trampled who
A crossroad of illusion where our minds are bent is unprotected
A white-shirted man, like an LDS missionary, came out of the car without any wounds
His shirt glared like snow to the audience who had bloody memories
The green light rotated all around like the sun for a day
The man holding the Gospel walked to the crashed car on the corner like an angel
Self-contradicting eyes were watching condolers on the road
People who cannot leave the wheel have to keep driving
In the beginning and ending hour on the road of life
I’m regulated as a stranger, and easily leave the chaotic road
With four legs like abandoned tires
No one requests any testimony from me
This is the law of coexistence that is a bit primitive and a bit unscientific
The scene of a perfect collision will be edited without any errors in public
In every smooth crossroad of perfect crimes and open cases
I’m still a prisoner awaiting trial
It was an unexpected film of unspecified persons that would be edited in a moment
Dangerous roads are all covered. People who go to their work of the soul
People who go to an unspecified address after finishing their third shifts
Today and tomorrow, the last unpredictable border is not far away at all
Police cars and ambulances will come with sirens like a chorus
The morning sun shined while separating pieces like shards
In the back mirror instead of traffic lights
