Until now

I looked outside

through dusty blinds

Sometimes people passed by outside the window

pretending not to notice

Even when it snowed

or rained

Falling leaves

even as time passed

I peeked through the gap between the two blinds

like a voyeur

Yesterday

My son who got married and lives in the next block

hung thin white curtains for me

The blinds went to the trash

It weathered hard times together

but I want to see the outside peacefully now

Looking up ahead

I see the neighbor's wall and the painted steel fence in between

And turning my head to the right

I see the neighborhood street.

Small, but I can see the sky too

There is something more important

When my study grows dark, the outside grows bright

When the outside grows bright, my study grows dark

What a beautiful change.
