49. 겨울산책

 

 

아무도 지나지 않은 하얀 눈길을

나 혼자 걷고 싶다

 

살얼음 깔린 호수를 지나

겨울나무들이 이고 있는 눈꽃에 싸여

옹달샘 조롱박으로 퍼 마시고

냉기에 취해서

나도 겨울이 되고 싶다

 

이대로 한 열흘

흐느끼면

 

나를 얼싸 안아 줄

그 커단 손

차고 맑은 가슴을

만나리라

 

 

49. A Walk In Winter

 

 

I wish to walk alone

on the path white with snow and untrodden by anyone

 

I wish to pass the lake covered with thin ice

and dip the water from a small well with a gourd,

surrounded by snowflakes on the winter trees  

and then I too wish to be winter

inebriated by icy air

 

Just as I am, perhaps after weeping

ten days or longer

 

I shall see those big hands

that will embrace me,

and the cool and pure heart
