47. 가을편지

 

 

가을바람에 눈물 섞어

한 자 한 자 적노니

그대 가슴에

단풍 들거라

 

인생이란 무엇이며

죽음 또한 무엇인가

 

서늘한 산그늘 내려

더운 목숨 식히는

가을 저녁 때

 

가장 아름다운 죽음 죽어

다시 살고픈 지금의 나에게

점점 고와지는 것이여

 

마지막 기를 쓰는

황혼 몇 점 몰고 와서

골 깊은 상처를

덮어 주려는가

 

견딜 수 없는 기쁨에

잎새마다 떨리는 빛 가려내어

바람 끝에 부치노니

 

그대 가슴에

고운 단풍 들거라

 

 

An Autumn Letter

 

 

Word by word I write in tears

in the autumn wind

Let the leaves turn red

in thy bosom

 

What is life

and what is death

 

An autumn evening

when the cool shade from the mountain

refreshes feverish life

 

A thing getting fairer

to me now, I long to die the most beautiful death

and then live again

 

Will it bring a few pieces of twilight

struggling to the last moment

and veil

deep wounds

 

With irrepressible joy

I pick and send in the wind

the light trembling in each leaf

 

Let the leaves turn fair red

in thy bosom
