4. 29 폭동 30년 즈음하여/이일영(李逸永)

 

 

4. 29 폭동 일어난지 어언 30년

엘 에이 지역 한흑 두 커뮤니티간 상호 이해의 폭을 넓히고

서로의 상처에 대한 위로와 치유로

사회가 안정되고 화합의 열매를 맺어가는 시점

이제는 모두 공존의 새역사를 활발히 펼칠 때

 

꿈과 기회와 다민족의 나라 미국

달려도 달려도 끝이없는 무조건 광활한 동과 서 남과 북

세계 최강의 나라 한 복판에서

21세기 들어서자마자 마치 영화의 한 장면처럼 

수천명 생명과 함께 무너져내린 쌍둥이 빌딩

정신 줄 끊어지듯 미 역사상 최악의 참극이었고

 

년중 내내 대륙 어딘가에서 심각한 자연 재해 더불어

폭력 사고 총기 살인 마약 범죄....

작년에 이어 해를 거듭해서 위협하는 코로나 팬데믹까지.....

 

그러함에도 불구하고  

이 나라는 내부의 문제를 낱낱이 들어내는 열린 사회

정면 도전하여 극복하는 복원력 에너지가 특히 강한 나라

 

마틴 루터 킹 박사의 인류 평등 염원에의 꿈이 서려있고

사상 초유의 오바마 대통령을 배출 시킨 나라

30년전 4. 29 폭동 현장을 목격한 우리 2세 3세들이

한인 정치력 신장의 일익을 담당하는 나라

뉴욕 할렘가 청소년들에게 어른 공경과 학구열의 불을 지피고

인생의 진로를 열어준 세스 앤드류 고등학교 신화가 있는 나라

바이든 대통령 취임식 축시에 '빛과 용기'를 읊은 젊은 여류 시인 

아만다 고먼이 장차 여성 대통령의 꿈을 갖고있는 나라

큰 바위 얼굴의 형형한 눈빛과 과 자유의 여신이 미소짓는 나라

세계 모든 인류를 앞장서 자유 평등 평화로 이끄는 선봉 주도의 나라....

 

세상은 꿈꾸는대로 흘러가기 마련

나는 다음과 같은 길을 꿈꾸고 싶다

 

캄캄할수록 더욱 찬란히 흐르는 밤하늘의 은하계처럼

하늘의 인격을 지닌 사람은 어떠한 어두움속에서도

널리 사람을 위하고 서로 나누며 돕는 것이

사람이 가야할 광명 정대한 곧은 길임을....

 

그 길은 

새 아침 햇빛 머금고 타오르는 모자이크 유리창처럼

여러 색의 사람들이 조화를 이루며 손에 손에 손잡고

사랑과 평화의 팡파르를 울릴 수 있는 참 세상의 길임을.....

 

 

At the Time of 3 Decades after the Riot 4. 29 / Francisco Lee

 

 

It has been 3 decades since the riot of April 29 occurred.

Now is the time to narrow the gaps in mutual understanding

between the Black American and the Korean American communities in L.A.,

to make the fruit of a safe society and reconciliation

by exchanging consolations and healing for each other,

and also the time to open a new history of cooperation for both.

 

 

In this great country of dreams and opportunities for multicultural

people, in the middle of the strongest country in the world with

almost no horizontal limit between east and west, north and south,

there occurred a gigantic tragedy of the 21st century like the scene of a film,

the twin buildings fell down with thousands of lives by the Arab terrorists,

leaving the greatest trauma in the minds of the American people.

 

 

Throughout the year, there have been critical catastrophes of nature,

violent accidents, murders with guns, and crimes by the illegal use of cocaine

together with Corona pandemics for the successive years....

 

Even-though of those problems, this country has been an open-minded

society that shows all kinds of problems inside and tries to solve them

as a country of strong resilience.

 

 

In the United States of America,

we have Dr. Martin Luther King's dreams longing for people's right to equality,

we had for the first time, a Black President, Barack H. Obama,

The Korean 2nd and 3rd generation who had experienced the 4. 29 riot

around 20 years ago are now devoting their power to politics for the Korean

community.

There's a myth that Seth Andrew High School of Korean style has opened

the road of life, burning the passion of learning together with adult respect,

for young people (mostly teenagers) in Harlem street, in New York City.

There's a Black young lady, Amanda Gorman who read her poem

'Light and Courage' at the commencement of President Joe Biden and

has a dream to become president in the future,

and also the bright eye-light of the Great Stone Face together with

the smile of the Statue of Liberty.

 

The world flows as you dream, so I'd like to dream as follows:

 

Like the darker is the night, the brighter the milky way of the stars is,

the people with heaven's character help and share with people,

even in all dark circumstances, try to pursue the right and just way.

 

 

The way should be the genuine way of the true world where all multicolored

people, like the mosaic window burning by the sunlight in the morning,

playing fanfare of love and peace, walk-in harmony, and hand in hand.
