15. 사랑하는 이여

 

 

나 떠난 후

사망했다는 말

말아 주오

 

타계했다거나

별세했다는 말도

하지 말아 주오

 

서거했다는 말은

격에도 맞지 않을 터이니

잠시 외출했다고만

조용하고 부드럽게

속삭여 주오 

 

아주 떠나는 것이 아니라

육체를 벗으면 보이는 것이 있다기에

육신을 땅에 묻어 두고

홀가분히 바깥바람 쐬러 갑니다

 

당신도 나를 볼 수 없고

나도 당신을 볼 수 없는 곳으로 가지만

다시 와서 그대 몰래

다녀가리다

 

사랑하는 이여

 

잠시 외출했다고만

조용하고 부드럽게

속삭여 주오

 

 

15. Beloved

 

 

After I depart

do not say

I deceased

 

Do not say

I left this world

or that I expired

 

To say I demised

will not fit for the occasion  

so, just whisper

quietly and softly

that I went out for a while

 

I'm not departing once and for all

but just going to take a walk in the world alone

my body buried in the dirt

as I hear there's something one can see out of one's body

 

Though I'm going where you cannot see me

nor can I see you

in secret I shall come again

to go back again

 

Beloved,

 

just whisper

quietly and softly

that I went out for a while
