수국

    

 

수줍은 망울망울 하얗게 피어나

그늘진 곳 화사하게

밝혀 주는 천진함으로

 

심장병 어린이를 돕자고

이름 없는 가수들이 노래를 부를라치면

그렇게 길가 아무데서라도

바람을 타며 응원을 해대는 소탈함으로

 

여름이 익어갈수록

붉고 푸른 물을 들여가며

송이송이 재즈 같은

열정을 뿜어내는 눈부심으로

 

어쩜 빗속에서도

그렇게 환하게 웃을 수 있니, 너는

A hydrangea

   

 

With a perfect naivety,

every shy bud blooms pearly white

and illuminates the shady nook brightly

 

with open-heartedness,

anywhere on the roadside

rides the wind and cheers on

at nameless singers’ song

to help young cardiac patients

 

with such a dazzle,

as summer ripens

dyes the petals red and blue,

and shows off passion of jazz in clusters

 

Oh, dear! How can you smile so beamingly

even in the midst of rain?
