Yearning Is Soft and Tender


The word yearning is soft and tender,
Like touching the full moon with fingertips.

When I pronounce yearning,
Something like flour dough smoothly swells
Filling the throat.
When it shoves off the tongue,
Emerging between the lips and
Shrouding my whole body and awareness,
My non-existent self floats up,
The warm self from within me.

In the soft strength
In the gentle light
In the soft feel
Things seen
Things unseen
Things heard
Things unheard.

When I pronounce yearning,
It feels soft and tender,
Like touching the moon with fingertips.


그리움은 말랑말랑하다/장 태 숙



그리움이란 말은 말랑말랑하다
보름달을 손끝으로 만지는 것 같다

그리움
하고 발음하면
목젖 가득 밀가루 반죽 같은 것이
미끈하게 부풀어오른다

혀를 밀치고
입술 사이를 뚫고 나와
내 온몸과 의식마저 감싸면
없는 내가 둥실 떠올라
내 속의 따뜻한 내가

그 말랑말랑한 힘 속에
은은한 빛 속에
부드러운 감촉 속에
보이는 것들
보이지 않는 것들
들리는 것들
들리지 않는 것들

그리움
하고 발음하면 말랑말랑하다
보름달을 손끝으로 만지는 것 같다.
